We offer a repair service for your W163 ML gear selector module. This unit commonly fails, resulting in the vehicle not starting (no crank). Additionally, the shifter may jam in park or not select reverse when moving from the drive position. Sometimes it can also cause the transmission to go into fail-safe. As we repair your original shifter, there is no need for recoding or programming. Every shifter is tested on our purpose-built simulator, which ensures that your unit is functioning 100% after the rebuild and is backed by our 12 month warranty.

P 1856 Selector lever position detection has failed.
P 1875 CAN communication with other control units installed in this vehicle is not possible.
P 240c Fault in communication with ESM.
P 2040 CAN message from electronic selector module (ESM).
P 2212 The selector lever position is implausible.
130 One or more messages from control unit N15/5 (Electronic selector lever module control unit) are intermittently not available on the CAN bus.
