Mercedes-Benz R170 Gear Selector repair
We offer a repair service for your R170 SLK gear selector module (ESM), this unit commonly fails and can cause your transmission to go into fail safe, it can also prevent your vehicle from starting (no crank) and is known to cause the shifter to jam in park or not select reverse when moving from the drive position. As we repair your original shifter there is no need for recoding or programming you just need to simply refit your ESM. Each and every shifter is tested on our purpose built simulator which allows us to ensure each gear selector module is functioning 100% after the rebuild and its backed by our 12 month warranty.

Common fault codes are:
P 1856 Selector lever position detection has failed.
P 1875 CAN communication with other control units installed in this vehicle is not possible.
P 240c Fault in communication with ESM.
P 2040 CAN message from electronic selector module (ESM).
P 2212 The selector lever position is implausible.
130 One or more messages from control unit N15/5 (Electronic selector lever module control unit) are intermittently not available on the CAN bus.
